The Netherlands recognizes the Schengen visa, which means that

If you are not on the above list you must apply for your visa IN PERSON at least 6 weeks
before traveling (it can take up to 2 months) – but no earlier than three months before
traveling. Visa requirements may change at any moment, so check by phone before making
application in person. The closest consulate that serves Cleveland is in Elyria (1060 Freedom
Ct. Elyria OH 44035). Be sure to make an appointment before going there.

At this moment the requirements are:
- 1 completed application form (available free online at www.netherlands-embassy.org). A
Schengen Visa application kit ($39.95) is available (http://www.schengenvisa.cc) on line, which
includes all pertinent information.
- 2 passport-size photos (Case printing services will take passport photos in Thwing; 368-2550
for an appointment).
- Valid passport with 1 full blank page
- Green card, green card stamp, and or a valid US visa together with a valid I-94 departure
record must be shown. Also students must submit an original and validated I-20 or
IAP-66.
- Return travel tickets or itinerary and proof of payment for tickets (we will supply a letter of
proof if not the actual tickets)
- Proof of purpose of visit (will be supplied in same letter showing proof of payment for
tickets)
- Confirmed accommodation (will be supplied in same letter showing proof of payment for tickets
and purpose of visit)
- Evidence of sufficient funds for stay
- Travel and repatriation insurance with a minimum coverage of US$37,500. Students can
apply on line at StudentUniverse.com. Original contract must be shown upon entering
country.
- Cash (exact change) or money order to pay the visa fee. The cost of a Netherlands Visa
for one month is $44
- A copy of all documents to be submitted should be made in advance to your appointment in the
event that they are required
