Mansoor, who will go beyond anecdotes, gut feelings, and traditions to identify what behavioral economists and psychologists know about what truly inspires altruism.
Free and open to all, Inside The Donor’s Mind is from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Mandel Community Studies Center Room 115 at 11402 Bellflower Road in Cleveland, Ohio, on the campus of Case Western Reserve University. Light lunch is included.
Mansoor is Chief Philanthropy Officer of the United Way of Greater Cleveland and has three decades of experience in philanthropy and fundraising — a subject he also teaches as an adjunct faculty member at the Mandel School. He has served as consultant and philanthropy advisor at GoodWorks, a firm he founded in 1995. Mansoor was senior vice president at Brandeis University and began his fundraising career at his alma mater, Cornell University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Operations Research and his Master’s in Business Administration.
This is the first event in the 2017 Strategies in Social Investment spring speaker series sponsored by the Master of Nonprofit Organizations (MNO) program at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences and moderated by Rob Fischer, PhD, MNO Program Director and Research Professor. The series is presented with support from the Gail and Elliott Schlang Philanthropic Fund (a donor-advised fund of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland) and is part of the Mandel School Centennial Speaker Series.
STUDENT INFO: Mandel School students receive 1.5 PD (professional development) hours for attending. Online and intensive weekend students who watch via livestream can receive 1.5 PD hours by submitting a brief summary to their field advisor.
