Setting Up VPN Access
VPN (Virtual Private
Networking) is the method you can use to access the Case network without being physically
connected to a Case network faceplace. VPN opens a tunnel between your ISP (internet service
provider) and the Case network so that your activities take place as if you are on the Case
network. For more information about VPN, including how to download the software and how to install
it, go to the
VPN section of Connecting to the Network
at the Case Information Technology Services website. For more information about VPN
check out our
VPN Tutorial.
Using OhioLINK Authentication
OhioLINK allows persons affiliated with OhioLINK institutions
to have access to OhioLINK online resources from any computer with internet access.
When you want to use the OhioLINK
Resesarch Databases or
Electronic Journal
Center you
will be prompted for authentication information. The system will ask that you
enter your University affiliation, your name, your Case account number, and your
PIN. Remember also that access to
Case Research Databases is only available through
the VPN service.
For more information and assistance using the Case Network visit the
Case Information Technology Services website.
