WHERE ARE RESERVE ITEMS KEPT?
Items on reserve for classes are kept behind the Circulation
Desk. You need a
call number to
request a book on reserve. Reserve books circulate for two hours at a time. Some items can be
checked out overnight up to two hours before closing and are due within one hour of opening the
next day. A fine of $2.00 per hour is charged for reserve items that are
overdue.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE CASE LIBRARY CATALOG AND OHIOLINK?
Case's Library Catalog is the online public catalog, online
resources, and libraries of Case Western Reserve University and associated institutions. The online
Library Catalog lets you locate books, journal titles, and media material at any of the Case
libraries. The
Research Databases give you access to
databases that will help you find journal citations and articles.
OhioLINK
is a state network of Ohio libraries. Its Library Catalog contains library holdings from 85
associated member libraries. Use the OhioLINK Library Catalog to check for material not in the Case
Library Catalog. Only books can be borrowed through OhioLINK; journal articles cannot be
borrowed.
INTERLIBRARY LOAN:
ILLIAD &
INTERLIBRARY LOAN
If you need a journal article and the journal is not owned by
any of the Case campus libraries, Harris Library can obtain it for you through Interlibrary Loan.
You must submit your journal article request to the Harris Library Interlibrary Loan Department
using the online system
ILLiad
. The Harris Library does not accept printed interlibrary loan requests.
Access
ILLiad at:
http://cwru.hosts.atlas-sys.com/illiad/MSASS/logon.html
AVAILABILITY OF FULL TEXT JOURNAL ARTICLES:
A number of databases offer the full text of journal articles.
Case and the OhioLINK system offer many full text journals. Full text articles in the OhioLINK
databases are indicated by the phrase "Retrieve Full Text" on the citation page. Or, go to the
OhioLINK Electronic Journal Center and retrieve
full text articles as PDF documents. You can also check the
Case E-Journal Portal by journal
title. The E-Journal Portal is an alphabetical list of Case and OhioLINK electronic journal titles.
The list contains over 31,000 full text article links. Our licenses with publishers and vendors
allow off-campus access only to authenticated Case faculty, staff, and students.
THE PRICE OF PHOTOCOPYING and PRINTING IN THE HARRIS LIBRARY:
Photocopies and Prints are 10 cents per page. The Harris
Library has two copiers that take nickels, dimes, and quarters, as well as $1.00 and $5.00 bills.
You can also use your CaseOneCard at the copiers as both copiers are equipped with Harco Card
Readers. Note: All Printing will only be done at the copier on the lower level of the Harris
Library near the Circulation Desk.
The second photocopier has been set up for your convenience in
the lounge on the first floor of MSASS for photocopying and printing from the web or from your
personal documents at any time during the day, as well as before and after library hours daily and
on weekends.
At Access Services, in Crawford Hall, you can establish a
CaseOneCard Account (minimum
amount $5.00). Guest cards can be purchased at the Value Transfer Station in Thwing Hall.
