Where is the library located?
We are on the first floor of the Mandel Building in Room 175, just beyond Noble Commons. We’re pretty hard to miss — look towards the back when you enter the building!
When are the library hours during the academic year?
- Monday – Thursday: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- Friday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Who can borrow books from the Harris Library?
Any CWRU student, faculty or staff with a photo ID card may borrow items from the Harris Library.
How long is a borrowing period?
Most of our books can be checked out for 3 weeks. Course reserves (based on required readings for your courses) may be borrowed for two hours. For more information about our policies including borrowing periods and fines, please refer to our website.
May I borrow items from other campus libraries?
Yes! Any CWRU student, faculty or staff are welcome to borrow materials from the other campus libraries, including the Kelvin Smith Library, the main library on campus. Also, the Kelvin Smith Library is open 24/7 for studying and collaborating during the academic year. Just remember to bring your CWRU ID card!
How do I learn more about the libraries on campus, finding library resources and developing research skills in general?
The Harris Library has an online library orientation that covers finding materials using the library catalog, searching the Research Databases for articles on a particular topic, ways to locate a specific online journal article and more.
