Title and Author Search

Use the Title option when you already know the name of a specific book or item. The following tips will increase your chance of finding a title successfully:

  1. Omit any initial articles, (a, an, the) when they are the first word of a title.
  2. Don’t worry about using capital letters or punctuation.

For example, type sun also rises, not The Sun Also Rises.

Search by author when you want to see all the works created by a particular person or group. Here are a few tips to make your search a success:

  1. Enter the author’s last name first: shakespeare william
  2. Put a space between names or initials: salinger j d
  3. Do not use punctuation.
  4. You may also type the name of an organization or governmental body like american psychological association
