The Mandel School makes the difficult decision about where to earn a master's degree just a
little bit easier by offering generous financial aid, guaranteed paid field placements for
full-time students, and a variety of other scholarships and fellowships that bring a top-flight
school down to earth.
In 2006, students in our School's master's program received $4.45 million in scholarships and
stipends. In 2006, this level of financial support enabled the School to award full-time
students an average combined scholarship and paid placement in the amount $14,692. We are proud
that the award level received in the first year has been continued in the student's second year,
provided the student is in good academic standing. 96% of Mandel's full-time students receive
scholarships beyond the paid field placement.
MSASS scholarships are awarded to students who have demonstrated academic excellence and
financial need. These scholarships are generously supported by
alumni and friends.
We work closely with you on a one-to-one basis to make sure that those who want to receive an
education at one of the top-ranked social work programs in the country can afford to do so.

FIELD PLACEMENTS: More than just a rewarding experience.
Every full-time master's student is guaranteed a
paid field placement, providing not only a rewarding experience in practice, but
an experience that's practical in its rewards.
Paid placements mean students are on-the-job right from the start, applying knowledge they learn
one week to the work they're doing the next. By guaranteeing that these placements are paid, we
ensure that the agencies at which we place our students assign substantive work, giving them
critical experience that will make them better practitioners, and more attractive job
candidates. Paid placements, scholarship, fellowships and other financial aid bring
the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences' nationally-known, high-ranking master's in social
work program within reach.
Do the math, be informed and compare.
