Application Process
U.S. citizens and permanent residents applying for admission to the Mandel School are encouraged
to apply for financial aid at the same time. All financial aid applicants must:
- Complete the
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Mandel
Federal School Code is
E00084;
- Complete the on-line Case Financial Aid Application and submit it to the Office of
University Financial Aid. User ID and password will be mailed to new students. Current students
will use their CaseNet ID and password to access the briefCase system.
- Submit (if applicable) a signed copy of the previous year's federal tax returns, W-2's and all
schedules to the Office of University Financial Aid.
The results of the FAFSA are used to determine the eligibility for all "need-based" forms of
financial aid, including scholarships, federal work-study and student loans.
Scholarships that are based on merit and financial need are awarded on a first-come,
first-served basis until funds are exhausted. Priority consideration is given to students who apply
by April 30.
Notification of Eligibility
All students who apply for financial assistance and are accepted into the masters program will
receive:
1.
An estimated award letter (which is based on the results of the FAFSA)
from the Mandel School Financial Aid Office.
This letter lists the type and the amount of any Mandel Scholarships
and paid field placement for which you qualify as well as the Terms and Conditions of the award.
You are required to accept or decline this award offer from the Mandel
School by returning a signed copy of the Terms and Conditions.
2.
An Official Award Letter from the Office of University Financial Aid
which lists the Mandel Award plus any federal student loans for which you qualify.
This offer, in most cases, will be sufficient to cover the Cost of
Attendance established for each student and must be accepted on-line on briefCase (http://finaid.case.edu/Finaid.aspx?briefCase&Level=008).
If you wish to decline any portion of the offer, it is essential that
the Office of University Financial Aid be notified of your intention within two weeks of your
Official Award Letter or it is assumed you want to accept the entire offer.
Financial aid is awarded for one academic year. A new Free Application for Federal Student Aid
and a CASE Financial Aid Application must be completed each academic year.
