Mandel School Field Education

Intern Placement Tracking, “IPT” Information

The Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences will be implementing a new web-based data management system starting the 2014-2015 academic year. The Intern Placement Tracking system (IPT) is a web-based data management system that will allow the Field Education Office to better manage student, field instructor and agency data to facilitate the student matching and placement process. It will also allow students and Field Instructor the ability to view and complete the learning contract and evaluation online, without the use of any specific software. All that is needed is a computer and web browser and the system can be accessed from any location. This system, we believe, will enhance the quality of the field instructor/student supervisory experience and facilitate better communication between the field education team. In addition to these benefits, IPT also offers the following benefits:

  • Provides the Mandel School with a paperless solution for tracking and archiving students’ placement and data
  • Allows students to research potential field placement descriptions and learning opportunities
  • Easily expand our field agency database and make revisions or updates as agency needs/circumstances change
  • Streamlines the field placement selection process
  • Allows agencies to describe learning opportunities in order to match students in ideal learning environments
  • Provides field instructors with a resource to easily access student information
  • Allows field instructors access to the learning contract/evaluations in a paperless system
  • Increases communication between the School and field agencies
  • Meet accreditation requirements to maintain data, assess and report on Field Education
