Centennial Holiday Gift Drive slideThe American Indian Education Center and Mandel School students, faculty, and staff are partnering to promote education and awareness regarding the American Indian community in Cleveland, which numbers over 15,000 people. In an effort to ensure that as many community members as possible have gifts to open up this Christmas, the Centennial Service Committee is hosting a gift drive as one of its Centennial initiatives.

Anyone can donate gifts! They will be given to children at the annual Christmas party at the American Indian Education Center in Cleveland. Gifts can be donated within the given age ranges:

+ Early Childhood (ages 4-8): Art supplies, educational toys, dolls of color, sports equipment, socks, mittens, etc.

+ Middle Childhood (ages 9-12): Art supplies, educational toys, dolls of color, sports equipment, socks, mittens, etc.

+ Adolescents (13+): $20-25 gift cards to stores that do not sell alcohol (i.e. Kohl’s, JC Penney, Sears, TJ Maxx, Marshalls; please give all gift card donations to Matt Colver in the financial aid office in Admissions, and do not put them in the donation boxes).

Please feel free to also donate diapers and baby wipes for infants. If you choose to wrap your donated gift, please label it with the age group and gender of the designated child (if applicable). No Chief Wahoo imagery please.

All gifts must be donated by November 30th  in two donation box locations: The lobby of the Mandel Center and the 2nd floor elevator hall way in the Mandel School.

Then, students, faculty, and staff are invited to help wrap all the gifts on December 1, 2, and 3 at 12:45 – 2:00pm in the Mandel Center Lounge, with a delicious soup lunch provided each day for the gift-wrappers hosted by the Centennial Service Committee!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Kathi Gant, chair of the Centennial Service Committee, at kxo@case.edu.
