The Office of Career Development and Management

The Office of Career Development and Management recognizes that students who have elected to attend a graduate program have already made a major decision regarding their careers. The benefit of career development and management programs is two fold: developing professional, focused student and alumni populations and developing MSASS as a competitive and integrative school of social work that responds to the dynamic material of the field.

The benefit of a career development and management program for students is that it:

  1. works with students to further focus their direction within the field of social work
  2. assists students in structuring their present and future career decisions to maximize their effectiveness
  3. aids students in recognizing their greater options by demonstrating the diversity and transferability of their degree
  4. provides students with a model for life long career development
  5. meets student requests for additional education career development and the relationship between individual and career definition.

The Office of Career Development and Management is available to assist students and alumni with a variety of career and job search support. MSASS believes that a complete education encompasses not only theory and practice in a content area, but also provides the tools to support an individual's continuous growth as a professional. The Office of Career Development and Management provides resources to assist students and alumni in their journey towards heightened self-awareness in order to enhance both personal and professional development.

Students and Alumni are offered a variety of activities to enhance their job search process. Click below to find out more about those career development activities.
