General Awards Criteria

The Awards Committee of the Mandel School Alumni Association, which reviews all nominations and selects award recipients, recommends the following criteria for all nominees: A strong commitment to social change through clinical direct practice, community practice, or education/teaching in social work or dedication to nonprofit work; leadership in an agency, institution/organization, private practice, or community; creativity in non-traditional or innovative approaches to practice; contributions to the field through research and publications; effective advocacy for the social work or nonprofit profession; and involvement in professional, civic, or community organizations.

Awards may be given posthumously and nominators need not be alumni. Alumni may self-nominate. The committee seeks to honor alumni who have not previously received a school recognition. Please refer to the Hall of Achievement before completing a nomination.
