As a graduate of MSASS, you are automatically a member of the Mandel School Alumni Association.
The Association has been an integral part of the School since 1931 when it was founded by Margaret
Johnson, a 1919 graduate of the School of Applied Social Sciences who later became the School's
first female dean.
Your active membership builds and sustains lifelong relationships; encourages learning and
professional growth; celebrates the success of alumni, faculty and students and shares the
excitement of the Schools accomplishments.

workshops providing continuing education credits on topics of current interest. Many of the
lectures are presented by MSASS alumni.

Alumni Executive Board
The Executive Board administers the work of the Association. The Board meets monthly at the
School from September through April. The work of the Board is done through the committees listed

The work of the Board is done through these committees:

Awards: This committee convenes annually
to review scholarship nominations for second-year students based on recommendations from faculty
and field advisors.

Nominating

Responsible for seeking and recruiting new Board members.

Recruitment
:
Responsible for assisting the School in finding and matriculating qualified
candidates for admission and to support students particularly during their first year at
MSASS.

Special Projects
: Sponsors a variety of events throughout the year. There is a particular
emphasis here on enhancing student/alumni relations.

Curriculum Committee: One alumni of the School sits on this committee to offer
the perspective of the professional community.

The Office of Alumni Relations is here to help keep alumni connected to the School and each
